10. Red Fort

Red Fort is Delhi’s most famous monument and a reminder of the Mughal era in India. Apart from remembering of Mughal era, it is also a symbol of the struggle for freedom. A sound and light show of one hour are held each evening to take you back to the ancient era.

The walls of Red Fort are covered by red sandstone, which looks so beautiful in the sun. It consists of a Hall called Diwan-i-Am, where the emperor receives his subjects and is stunningly made with white marble.

9. Jama Masjid

Another marvelous creation in Old Delhi and one of the largest mosques. A climb to its southern tower will leave you in astonishment as the view from there will be stunning.

It is featured with three gateways, two 40 meter minarets built with red sandstone and white marble, and four towers. Visitors should be appropriately dressed; otherwise won’t be allowed in.

8. Akshardham

New attraction point for tourists and was built by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. It shows Indian culture very aptly, which is very soothing and enchanting.

The temple’s work consists of pink stone and white marble; gardens, boat rides, and various sculptures are also included. Plenty of time is needed to visit this beautiful creation, almost half a day.

7. Humayun’s Tomb

Humayun’s Tomb is constructed of white marble and red sandstone. The design was taken as inspiration from the Taj Mahal; gardens and other small tombs surround the Tomb. When it is illuminated, it looks spectacular, not to forget to catch a glimpse of it.

6. Lodhi Gardens 

Lodhi Gardens, a place to visit if you are tired or worn out, provides serenity from city life. Best for joggers, young couples, and yoga practitioners.

5. Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar, the tallest minaret in the world, the architecture of Indo-Islamic. The tower consists of five different stories and is covered with carvings and verses from the holy Quran. Built from various types of stones. Many people are eager to climb to its top to see the sight.

4. India Gate

In the center of New Delhi, India Gate symbolizes a war memorial built-in memory of brave soldiers who have lost their lives on the battleground. Surrounded by beautiful gardens is a popular place to enjoy the evenings of summer. The walls of the India Gate are inscribed with the names of soldiers (more than 90,000). India Gate looks so beautiful at night as tricolor lighting is flashed on it.
